Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Lead Mechanical Advisor to provide high-level technical leadership, hands-on advisory support, and structured coaching to offshore mechanical teams—building sustainable capability through teaching, mentoring, and disciplined maintenance execution to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as offshore mechanical technical authority for rotating and static equipment.
• Provide technical assurance and quality oversight of mechanical maintenance and repair activities.
• Lead complex troubleshooting, failure analysis, and defect elimination.
• Support planning, execution, and technical readiness of shutdowns, turnarounds, and critical maintenance scopes.
• Advise offshore leadership on risk-based maintenance decisions and reliability strategies.
• Ensure disciplined SAP CMMS use (planning, execution feedback, and history capture).
• Interface with OEMs, vendors, and onshore engineering to resolve complex issues.
• Serve as SME for structured coaching and knowledge transfer.
• Develop/deliver competency-based training with Learning & Development.
• Mentor national technicians/trainees; support succession planning and nationalization objectives.
• Conduct technical assessments, identify gaps, and implement development plans.
Requirements
• Extensive offshore mechanical maintenance experience (oil & gas or similar).
• Strong expertise in rotating/static equipment, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement.
• Demonstrated mentoring/coaching and technical instruction capability.
• Strong HSE mindset and disciplined execution.
• SAP CMMS (or equivalent) planning and close-out experience.
• Strong communication skills in multicultural teams.
