Role Overview
Chevron is seeking a National Offshore Electrical Technician to support safe and reliable operation of the Alen Platform through hands-on execution of electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability activities. The role focuses on electrical power generation, distribution, and utility systems supporting offshore gas production.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on offshore electrical systems in line with manufacturer recommendations, applicable codes, and Chevron standards.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and test medium- and low-voltage systems (6.9kV / 480VAC).
• Maintain switchgear, motor starters, transformers, VFDs, generators, and emergency power systems.
• Diagnose faults using electrical test equipment (multimeters, insulation resistance testers, clamp meters).
• Prepare JSA, work permits, and energy isolation permits.
• Execute breakdown repairs and support root cause failure analysis (RCFA).
• Plan work scopes, identify spare parts and tools, and coordinate with Operations and other disciplines.
• Create, update, and close work orders using SAP or similar CMMS systems.
• Provide technical mentoring to less experienced electrical technicians.
• Comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
• National Electrical Technician certification or equivalent trade qualification.
• Offshore or industrial electrical maintenance experience (oil and gas preferred).
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, fault-finding, and safe work practices.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and single-line diagrams.
• Experience with SAP CMMS or similar maintenance systems.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a multicultural offshore team.
